Nambsheim is ideally located at the crossroads of the German and Swiss borders. This small village of 600 inhabitants is bordered by fields and crops that seem to extend to infinity.

If you stay at the Atelier, you will quickly see that this small hamlet benefits from an incomparable location between plains and paths.

Close to both major cities (20 minutes from Colmar and Mulhouse) and the Rhine Bridge providing direct access to Germany, Nambsheim allows you to combine the feeling of being hidden in a lost paradise, while easily moving to the city.

Nature lovers, admire the surrounding view of the Vosges and the Black Forest. Escape to the mountains in turn or discover the treasures of the Heritage and various activities nearby.

Please note that you will need a car to explore the region and the activities we suggest.

CONQUER

The Citadel of Neuf-Brisach

Neuf-Brisach is a small town in Alsace located east of Colmar, very close to the Rhine and the German border. It is known for its fortifications built in the 17th century by the famous urban planner Vauban and is therefore classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Discovering Neuf-Brisach, a fortified town, will give you a pleasant moment combining history and a stroll around the ramparts. You will be able to appreciate this architectural heritage, its bastioned towers, its gates and its Place d'Armes... still intact .

Note that Neuf-Brisach is located 10 minutes by car from Nambsheim. This is therefore an activity that can be improvised for a walk, or for a guided tour, depending on your desires!

In a thrill park

Voted 7 times the best amusement park in the world, Europapark brings together all the districts of European capitals in the open air.

The restaurants, cafés and bars throughout the park will delight you with their specialities specific to each country represented, and the hundred or so thrilling attractions allow you to vary the pleasures while marvelling in sublime thematic settings.

Since 2021, the Park has had an aquatic world, Rulantica, open to all ages.

The park is located in Rust, Germany, approximately 45 km from Nambsheim.

Remember to book your tickets online to benefit from direct access to the park upon arrival.

At a chief's table

The restaurant “Côté Cuisine” is located in the Alsace plain, 15 minutes from Nambsheim, in the heart of the village of Hirtzfelden.

The open kitchen run by chef Emmanuel WALTISPERGER allows you to follow the preparation of the dishes ordered...

After having represented French gastronomy in the French Embassies (Afghanistan and Austria) and having practiced cooking in prestigious establishments such as the George V in Paris or the Pont de Brent in Montreux (Switzerland), the chef returned to his native village to offer exceptional bistronomic cuisine at reasonable prices.

The Côté Cuisine restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Closed on Monday and Tuesday.

WALK AND TALK

in the alleys of Freiburg

Today, the historic buildings and picturesque alleys still present bear witness to the history of Freiburg, a town located 30 minutes from Nambsheim.

The medieval Swabian Gate, the magnificently decorated house facades and of course the Gothic masterpiece – Freiburg Cathedral – stand in fascinating contrast to contemporary, sustainable and avant-garde architecture.

Stroll through the historic old town, the Vauban district, an ecological district, and let yourself be seduced by this Mediterranean atmosphere in one of the carefully landscaped gardens & parks.

As a bonus, the many independent boutiques in the city center will allow shopping enthusiasts to discover the city while doing their shopping!

VISIT

An open-air museum

Located in Germany, near Basel, the Vitra Design Museum is recognized worldwide as one of the leaders in furniture and architectural design.

Designed by the illustrious Frank Gehry, the museum is located on an open-air campus entirely dedicated to contemporary art.

The buildings offer a striking spectacle and seem to defy the laws of physics. The museum itself houses more than 8,000 pieces tracing the creative history of design in the heart of a stunning site open to professionals and amateurs, in search of originality to embellish their interior.

The Vitra Museum is located in Switzerland, about 45 minutes from Nambsheim. It is open from 10am to 6pm and can be combined with a visit to the city of Basel, the capital of European art.
