ENJOY

Wines from the Alsatian terroir

The cooperative spirit germinated less quickly in Pfaffenheim than in other wine villages. But a fierce will to succeed animated many old-timers who worked to achieve their goal and end up with the wine cellar in their village.

The official creation of the cellar was possible in 1957.

Since then, the Cave de Pfaffenheim has been one of the institutions close to Colmar in terms of Alsatian grape varieties: Riesling, Grands Crus, Gewurtztraminer, the imprint of the terroir is brilliantly illustrated through the wines that are born here.

Whether you come alone, with family, friends or in groups, the Cave offers tasting sessions all year round and, if you wish, a guided tour of the cellars.

The cellar is open every day of the year

(Sundays and public holidays included) except December 25 and January 1.)

ADMIRE

The Retable d'Issenheim

Housed in a former Dominican convent founded in 1252, the Unterlinden Museum presents a remarkable collection of sculptures and paintings from the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
The Gothic cloister, built from 1280 to 1289, is considered to be the most complete in Alsace. This museum, located in the city center of Colmar, has a rich cultural identity.

It contains one of the masterpieces of Western art: the Isenheim Altarpiece, an impressive polyptych sculpted by Nicolas de Haguenau around 1510 and painted by Mathias Grünewald from 1512 to 1516.

This ensemble is considered a major piece in the world history of Art. A remarkable place not to be missed!
